In addition to Jay I heard Jason Rich had surgery yeserday for an injury received racing in Arkansas. Jason is not scheduled for surgery yet, I rode with him today Boy am I in trouble, we rode by and the Flea wanted to stop and talk to Jason. He saw him riding from the rode. I told him it couldn't be Jason because MammaFlea said he had just had surgery. MammaFlea works with Jason's Mom so we get info sometimes before it happens.

Man word travels fast! This was posted by a member in Fort Worth before Jay ever made it from the track to the hospital. . Hey I have the radar out for all my vet buds, our friendship is all that holds us together sometimes! I mean that literally. Jay's got a road ahead of him, I did the collar bone, ribs, lung thing last year, it hurt to smile let alone breathe!

Any updates on Jay? Is no news good news? Is he still in ICU? Billy was wanting to stop by the hospital when he gets out of ICU. Hope he's doing okay.
Tony - how are you doing?
Thanks...Brenda

The Dr's say J. will be in SICU for at least 5 days. If you would like more info, just call me, please. When we are in J's room, we have to keep our phones off, so, I might not return your call right away. 652-1815

Good news! J's spleen has stopped bleeding. And, the tube in his throat might be removed Saturday or Sunday. Not out of the woods, but things are looking better!

man thats very good news!! do we know about when he will be moved so we can see him.let us know.how you feeling? I talked to Tony this afternoon and he sounds better, says he's feeling better too. He said Jay has his color back and looks to have improved a lot today. They are expecting to get the breathing tube out in a day or two which I take that they will lighten up on the meds and he should wake up and probably start talking, again . I bet he'll have a lot to say when he does. Tony also said that the docs are suspecting that the problem with his kidney may not have been a result of the crash but something that we just weren't aware of yet. When he gets moved out of ICU he should be able to receive visitors on a limited basis. I would like to caution everyone that has never had a broken rib that it hurts like hell to cough, sneeze and laugh. The pain is excruciating with one or two broken ribs, remember that all of Jays are broken on his left side so lets keep the humor for later.

J's doing much better. Not completely out of the woods, yet , but doing really good. He is still in SICU for a little longer, and it will be a few months before he's fully recovered from this one.
At a later date, I'd like to get a few of his good friends together for a visit. I'll supply the ear plugs! ;D
Please, PM me if you would like more info.

I got a call from Tony last night about 8pm that they just found out they will be moving Jay to Austin today. With no time to spare, and less than an hour of visitation left, a few of us got to go see Jay last night. He was still hooked up and obviousely still hurting but in pretty good spirits. Hailey & I were the first to go in and I didn't plan on staying as long as I did but he seemed to enjoy to company. After almost 15 minutes I thought it best to scurry out and let the others have a turn. He was exhausted after an hour of visitors I'm sure but it was real nice to see him awake and alert. We'll have to get future updates from the family.
