When we moved to Waco, the first person I met was Jay, I can not remember a day that we did not talk (I mean Jay did not talk). I would get such a kick out of listening to him ramble on and I would seldom get in a word but I always hung up the phone with a smile and a giggle because he insisted on making me laugh. We were just getting into riding Jay would help me with keeping my bikes running. My boys would make fun of me when I would try to fix them, they would say "Dad, why don't you just call Jay so you don't break it worse".
That really says what type of person Jay was, he would help anybody at any time, even if it was not convenient. I also enjoyed working with him every day, Jay new what Customer Service was. If he told you something then it got done and in today's world that is not something you see every day.
We will miss him!! The Cummings Family

Tony for us bringing bikes is not an option, What about wearing Race jerseys? Would the family view that as tasteful or not?

Jay was the first member I met upon joining the Eagles several years ago. This was back when the MX track was consumed by mesquite trees and prior to the Super track (now the Flat Track)for those of us that date back that far. He greeted me as if he had known me for years and from that time forward I enjoyed riding with him. As others said Jay did like to talk and I have listened to a few tales during those years. He always offered to help a friend in need and will be sadly missed.

My deepest condolences to Jay's family. I'm terribly saddened and shocked by this turn of events. I met Jay at his work, I'm a contractor and Jay was always very helpful and had a gift for gab. Over the past year and a half we became friends and Jay went the extra mile everytime to solve equipment problems or material orders etc. I admired Jay for his dedication to his job. All of this before I told Jay I raced motocross once upon a Sunday in 1978 while visiting family here in Waco. I had recently bought a new 450, rode it at Eagles with Jay as a guest for the 1 st time of course I was told I bought the wrong color bike! It was Jay's enthusiasm for the sport I admired, his willingness to lend a hand or advice whether you wanted it or not! I was invited to ride with him the day of the accident but could not get free of obligations regretfully. I didn't know Jay very long but he was my friend, a friend I looked forward to do some riding with, bullsh*ting with and all the talking that comes with knowing Jay.
Rest in Peace my friend........sure gonna miss you.
How do I get one of the in memory shirts etc.?

Today, by chance, I bumped into another Waco Eagles Member, and discovered he was aware of Jay's accident, but he had no knowledge of Jay's passing.I guess what I want to say here is, it might be helpful if we called the WEMC Members each of us is familiar with, and gave them an update, just in case they are unaware of the funeral services, and in turn, ask them to call other Members, as well. Jay and his family have been an important part of this Club for more than 30 years, and everyone should be afforded the opportunity to say their goodbye's.Please, help us spread the word. Thank you, Tony Click Here For More Service Information
