This is very sad news. I've been following the updates on her for a few days now since she came back from Costa Rica. She has had a very rough past few years. I'll never forget her & Gaye Smith, and can't begin to thank them for their help when I raced the Iron Man at Whitney a few years back. If it wasn't for them I think I'd had a heat stroke. I still save the email she sent me back in 2005 when I was doing the web page for BMX Jeff,
I recently gave Chester a storage box of pictures that I have taken at Burleson Motocross since back before TEX-MX News (aka Southern Dirt Bike) was even created (1989). Burleson was our home track (we only lived a half mile as the crow flies away and moved in a year after Chester opened the track). We have always supported Chester since our very first visit there and to this day are still great friends with him and Denise...and watched those kids grow up. First time we met Denise she was pregnant with A.J.
You might see if Chester would be willing to let you scan some of the pictures for your website. Most of the oldies do not have names on the back of the photo's....you almost need to be an antique like me to remember who they are. Back then we didn't have a lot of places to ride, so the crowds were much bigger due to the lack of choices that now divide the riders. The first Sunday was always Lake Whitney, the second Sunday was Burleson, the third Sunday was Wolf Creek, the fourth Sunday was Swan and the four times a year there was a 5th Sunday we'd go to Oak Hill. The only night racing was Mosier Valley...every Friday night like clockwork.
I could go on and on with history and trivia...sorry for getting distracted.
