Note: After some research I have discovered that we misinterpreted the Sonny Chatham Awards, there are two of them.
The Sonny Chatham Youth Rider Award is an award for the youth rider which has displayed the most noticeable improvement in riding skills, and is under the age of 18. This is a separate award from the Sonny Chatham Youth Award.
The Sonny Chatham Youth Award is for a youth under the age of 18 for recognition of that youth which has displayed outstanding sportsmanship and serves as a role model for others regardless of that persons riding abilities.
I will bend the rules for the Sonny Chatham Youth Rider Award and accept Nominees via the Internet, since we missed it at the meeting tonight. We need to get them lined up for a vote, which will be held at the November meeting.
Below is a list of officers which were either unopposed, or the only person nominated, and will serve term for the coming year.
President - Jeff Gilbert
VP - Glenn McNamara
Treasurer - Ross Stovall
Secretary - Petra McNamara
Membership - Jeanine Davis
Road Captain - Luis Uceda
E-Board 2nd term
Danny Krumnow
Curtis Stevens
We also voted to create a special award to James & Mary Taylor to show our appreciation for their services to Waco Eagles Motorcycle Club. For those not aware, James is a 72 year young, retired business, owner and an an ex-flat-track racer. Though he hasn't thrown a leg over a bike in many years, it was his desire to give back to the sport that he so loves. In an effort to show his appreciation for the sport, James & Mary purchased a brand new tractor with a front end loader for the sole purpose to shred our property when ever asked to do so. He refuses to even accept reimbursement for the fuel he burns and insists that he pay admission for all events. Mary is always right beside him anytime he is there. James also helps with much of the mechanic work on our equipment since he was a mechanic by trade. I hope that one day each of us are in a position to give back to that which we are so passionate, as these two have. Thank You James & Mary Taylor!
ps, the free pizza was great tonight!
