I just wrapped up a little more than a months worth of running sound for concerts & shows which has kept me away from the track since the last race. In other words I haven't been to the track in a while. What needs to be done this weekend? Dare we try to repair the new storage shed door and clean out the tower?
I'm hoping we have a water truck that works for the next race, we're gonna need it bad I bet. If it is working I'm for closing the track down sometime later in the evening Saturday and watering the track real good. What do yall think?

Jeff, I will be out at the track nearly every morning this week. There are several (4-6) tires that have emaerged from beneath the track. I have tried to cover them with loose dirt (shovel). It is not working. They are not a big deal for the larger bikes but Christian is having a rough time dodging them on his 50. One is on the face of the third table top, very dangerous. Can we get this fixed by this weekend? I would be willing to help in the mornings this week. Let me know. Thanks
Bob James

I hate to pull the tires out because of the hole it leaves but if we have water, perhaps pulling them out may be the best choice (providing the tractor is up & running) Overall what kind of shape is the track in?

Hey , the track is in fairly descent shape. Other than the tires and a few small holes it seemed fine to me. The idea to water alot the evening before the race is excellent. I think that a really good soaking would last at least through the noon hour. I mean 10k gallons or so. WE track is awesome when it is a little tacky. Pulling those tires would leave a huge hole but I would be willing to fill them in and soak the filled holes with a little water. I will probably be there Saturday morning. I will do a little work in the next couple of mornings. See everyone this weekend. Bob

Does anyone know if we have gotten any rain at the track? If not, do we have a water truck?

Does anyone know if we have gotten any rain at the track? If not, do we have a water truck? I haven't been there but I haven't had any rain at my house in Robinson. I hope they got the water pump back in the truck because if we don't get some rain it's gonna be nasty this weekend.

Okay... Here's the deal. The water pump has been repaired but isn't installed yet. I have it with me but I need some help getting it back in the truck. I'll be at the track Saturday morning through the races Sunday. If you can lend a hand we will have water this weekend.

Jeff,
I'll be there in the morning. I have a limited amount of tools in the truck, mainly sockets. I'll help but need to take off early in the afternoon, how long do you think it will take.

Well... The pump had a little mishap on the ride home tonight. It flipped over and broke a fitting off. I got part of the rusted / broken pipe off but there are no threads left. I'm going to see what I can come up with in the morning to get the threads either retapped or drilled and heli-coiled. Damnit this sucks! I'll be at the track as soon as I can get this thing ready to install. I'll pm you my cell number. Jeff, I'll be there in the morning. I have a limited amount of tools in the truck, mainly sockets. Things are looking up! What looked like messed up threads and midnight last night turned out to be part of the old fitting. I managed to bend it over and remove without too much difficulty when the sun came up. Threads are cleaned up, got new fittings and all is good to go. I'll be heading to the track in hopefully about an hour or so to get it installed. Funny thing is that it's raining and we probably won't even need the water truck tomorrow.
