Can we bring up the subject of the tie-in from the A - B tracks at the next meeting? If we are going to run both tracks at races, I think we should have some kind of official tie-in between the two. It doesn't need to be elaborate, just graded out a little wider and smoother with possibly a small berm as it curves around to the left. Right now it is just a bike trail.

Yes that subject can be discussed along with others Mike & I talked about last night.
(1) More flaggers on the B track. (a must) (2) Training of all flaggers (3) Build stand for flaggers.
(4) Build a shot cut on the B track
(5) Water truck needs repair (a must)
(6) If both tracks are run, 3 laps not 4
(7) Rider under 18, no parent at track.
(8) Additional track repairs.
With bigger crowds we need to be on our toes. My focus is more on the paper end side and Mike on the track. Our goal is to speed things up a bit and that’s all in getting more organized.
Suggestions are always welcome Thanks, Paula

I know I'm fairly new but I'll throw my two cents in also.
The B track is fun to run. If you practice it you can make up time. The only problem is you spend two minutes where the people that came to watch you can't see the race. I don't know if the flaggers have a radio or not, but it takes longer to know there is somebody down back there.
The transition from B to A is rough. I was in 4th and the front end was dancing like a show girl and I noticed some of the more experienced riders were doing the same. I'm suprised nobody over shot the first corner because of the speed built up.
We do need a tractor that can grade and water the track. Two birds with one stone. I know a towable water tank can't hold as much water as the truck but it's less things to keep running. Also, we need somebody that knows how to do track maintanance, not just now how to drive a tractor. It is easier to mess up the track than fix it.
I would be all for running 6 laps on the A track. It would keep everybody in view, and the races would be over quicker.
8:30 needs to be 8:30. Absolutly no late sign ups. Sorry if you got up late or what ever the excuse is for not being there. If it is inforced, more people will make it a point to be on time. I know it's a family atmosphere but it's going to take a few hurt feelings to fix it. Might be reasonable to allow late entries for a train blocking the gate. I'm not sure what the cut off should be for that but it could be decided on.
I'm not exaclty sure but I think the AMA just averages the two moto's with the second being the tie breaker, instead of the points system we use. Lowest average is the winner. If we're going to rename the classes to follow AMA rules we need to do everything their way. I think it will bring the prestige up too.
None of this was meant to be mean to anybody. I think it is ran great for being ran by volunteers. You guys (and girls) are awesome. I had fun just as always, will have an umbrella for the trailer next time though.

I don't think we would have anyone opposed to shorting the B track, we hate not running any of it, so if we could block off the part in the woods I think most everyone will be pleased. All the flaggers have radios and are told to call when someone is down. Most times we know a rider is down and okay but the parents don't hear what we do. And for a parent that is scary. That is one of our most concerns at this time. The transition from A to B was something Mike & I talked about last night and will addressed that at the meeting. Been thinking hard on the late sign ups. It's hard to turn them away, but I think that's what we need to do Or charge them a $5.00 late fee. Will you be the one I can send them to when their eyebrows connect in the middle. just kidden. Scoring issue has been fixed, I was just informed. (by some one looking over my shoulder) Details later when I get the scoop. Next Monday Mike will be out at the track working with Glenn putting lights up on the half mile. Mondays are Mikes only day off to work out at the track. Sundays are family days. That’s why he is unable to come out on Saturdays. It's just a time issue with Mike but he's a pretty good track builder. YOU DD NOT HEAR THAT FROM ME. I'm being run out of my office.... so to be continued.
