Each year Hailey & I head to Cooperland for a week of moto paradise. It's an event exclusive to Dirtrider.net (DRN) members, which we are. It's limited to around 300 members and goes for the entire week (2 weekends) all for about $20. per day. I've talked to some of you about my experiences there and it's without a doubt the best times we've ever had. It turns into an event of no other proportion that you would have to experience to understand. These people are like family to me and Hailey.
Every year there are big time sponsors that step up and make the event happen by donating close to $50k in prizes and give-a-ways. If there were no gifts I would still come home with the biggest gift of all, memories! In addition there is always some guests that show up to hang out & ride with us. People as Kenny Bartrom, the Coopers, Malcom Smith and many many more. On Saturday, after a full week of poker runs, hare scrambles, team races, woods riding and ever other kind of riding you can imagine, including open riding at anytime, we all line up for the finale mx races. The classes are arranged a little bit different here though. If you've never been on an mx track before you will race the C class. If you are an average spode on the track and can navigate the obsticals then you belong in the B class. There's a class for bike's with lights, an over 40 class, a womens class and even an over weight class. The highlite of the day has to be the "A" class, that's for all the Adam Mennenga type and several of the celebraty type that come to spend the week with us. These are the almost as fast as #31 on the KTM guys. In the following video clip you will see some of the action. #1 on the YZ450 is Dr.D and of coarse on the big KTM would be Guy Cooper along with Kenny Bartrom, Kris Brown, and several others. Notice about 3/4 of the way through the video where Cooper rides up the side of the embankment and whips it flat. He does this several times and to see it in person is insaine!
Enjoy!
