Here is a picture of a stepup at Cooperland, this thing is a blast. Even the 80's do it. Wonder why we don't have one

Jeff remember when we were on the Track committee and I wanted to convert some jumps to step up, that was what I was talking about.

Jeff remember when we were on the Track committee and I wanted to convert some jumps to step up, that was what I was talking about. Me too. Perhaps when we get a tractor we can reshape some of the jumps. My experience has been that these kind of step ups are safer because they are steeper and more intimidating to the less skilled riders. The steepness keeps the speed down and the distance traveled shorter. It also keeps the distance you are off the ground less considering the amount of air you get. Did you watch the video? Guy Cooper is amazing to watch. Also you can see the step up from the side view and it doesn't look near as big as it does when you look at it straight on. The face is so steep that you can't walk up it so in that fashion it would be too steep for Waco because the 50's would have a hard time with it. At Cooperland they route the 50's around it.

Here's another picture of that same stepup taken this week. It gives a more realistic idea of what it really is

That's insane. As a new rider I would be super intimidated by that hog.
Is it on a straight or off of a turn?

That's insane. As a new rider I would be super intimidated by that hog. Is it on a straight or off of a turn? It's an easy 5th gear run at it but the approach gets very rough. Looking at it from the side is not intimidating but as you can tell from the picture, looking at it wfo in 5th is a different story. Check out the video. wacoeagles.no-ip.info/uplinkimages/Guy&Doug.wmv

What all has been done to the track lately? I haven't been out there in a while. I think a step up or triple step up would be a great idea. Or even a downhill stepdown. Step ups that big are intimidating, but casing doesn't quite mess you up as bad. They are so fun. It feels like you're on an elevator when you hit them.
