I have a question about pipes and silencers. Do you have to use the same brand of pipe as you do silencer? the reason i am asking is because in all of my mx parts catalogs, under the pro circuit pipes it says , MUST BE USED WITH A PRO CIRCUIT SILENCER. is this true? and if so, is it mandatory?

Your answer is yes you must use their silencer if it is called for because any other type will not fit and or what ever benefit you get from the after market pipe will be negated by the tuning of any other silencer.

What kind of bike are you dealing with. The combination is key to what you are looking for. Bottom end, mid, or top end. For bottom end we use the FMF fatty and cut the stock silencer 1.5 inches.
Some pipes do indicate you must use their silencer. However some small mods make anything possible.

You can use the stock silencer with that pipe. However I would shorten the stock silencer by 1.5 inches to enhance the pipe. This will save ya about $100.00!!

ok, thanks, but if wanted to invest in an after market silencer, would the pro circuit shorty silencer work?
