How can you make a statement that you prefer a 2-stroke but you've never raced a 4-stroke? Race a 4-stroke a couple of times and then make that statement. If you are still insistant that you prefer a 2-stroke, I'd gp with the new KTM 144's but I'm willing to bet you will want a 4

I'm on an 07 KTM 250sxf and love it. Before I bought I rode the KXF & CRF. I prefer the KXF for turning but the KTM was the fastest, and the 07 KTM's have a sleeker feel and handle more like the jap bikes than before. After I bought, I rode the 07 RMZ and must say it is a nice bike. If I didn't get the KTM I probably would have gone yellow. Never did ride the blue 250f's.
It is a world of difference between riding the 2 & 4 stroke. I kept my 2 stroke thinking I would ride it but it took me riding the 4 about twice before realizing I would never ride the 2 again. My 2-stroke was punched to a 174.

Yea, i guess the reason i didnt like a 4 stroke before cuz i never have tried it... but i will for sure try one out. Im just kinda sceptical tho, ive always raced 2stroke and i dunno how long it will take me to get used to the 4 stroke.. Dont get me wrong, i dont hate 4strokes, I guess im just kinda scared of change.. Im really looking forward to trying out a 4stroke tho. You just might have changed my life lol :-)

Ive been racing a kx250 for a long time. i tried the 4 stroke, but it just did not seem to have the acceleration or quickness of a 2 stroke. but one thing the 4 stroke has is downright POWER! i think you shoud get watever you feel most comfortable on

Well i tried out a 06 crf250 today, i really liked the power but it was lacking just like you said (fmxrider) the quickness.. it has a buttload of power tho. I also looked at a 04 ktm 125. I loved it. I was never a real big ktm fan until today. The price of the ktm is 1700.. Its in really good shape and has alot of aftermarket parts. Is that a fair deal for that kinda of model? Or do you peeps think of i keep looking around more , i will find a better deal?

adam, go to nada dot com . free website. that is a good guideline to watch. there are also alot of bikes for sale on texasoffroad dot net . go to the classified section and click on bikes for sale. or try mxcrazy dot com and go to classified section click on bikes for sale. mxcrazy is a much smaller forum but sometimes its the right place. in jan 07 i bought a yz250f from a guy on mxcrazy and tonight i bought a kx250 from a guy on tons (texas offroad network). all good places to look. the 4strokes have more bottom end power (torque) and the 2 strokes have the snapping quick power. i like the 2's and the 4's both. if you have never rode a newer 4stroke, you should. they are not like the 4's of old. they will surprise you.
