Tore out all the old plumbing and had to tear out the old floor in the bathroom. Much to my suprise there were big holes underneath the plywood that was there. So now I have the small divider wall and the hot water closet walls completly tore down to fix the floor. Also, had to tear down the 12 foot of wall in between the hall and bathroom because it had no studs in it. Can you believe that? Just pieces of plank tied together horizontally and vertically then sheetrocked over. All the doors are tore down because they were hung crooked, I always thought the house was a fun house and just leaning itself. Ripped all the base boards and trim off the walls and windows because it was just 1x4's or 1x6's instead of real trim. Was trying to get done by the 1st of June but in reallity it'll be the 1st of July. Too much riding time lost but I hope it's worth it. I guess that's what I get for having a house built in the thirties.

Man! Between you and me we should take up motorcycle riding or something and leave all the remodeling and plumbing stuff to the professionals. It hasn't even been a week since I drove the nail into my water line when I was putting the baseboards on in my office. Got that mess taken care of, even got the wall repaired to the point you can't even tell where I patched it. Finaly I'm thinking, I got all this plumbing crap behind me. But NO!! Last night the kid gets out of the shower and says that the water was slow draining but she thought it was some hair on the drain so she cleaned it out. I walk in there a few minutes later and see the carper all wet. Now I remember when I was her age and I would stop up the drain in the shower so the water would get real deep and I'm thinking that's what she did. Just before I called her to clean up her mess I pulled the carpet up from around the toilet to see a pretty steady stream of sewage pouring out from underneath it. Look in the other bathroom and then the kitchen. Everything in the whole house is backed up. That was close to 10pm and I just got finished with the plumbing part. It's now 6:30pm the next day I still have no flooring back in the bathroom but the water drains.

The good thing is the plumbing is pretty straight forward in the house. I already replaced the old clay pipe in the yard, the pipes are pvc and work real good. Hope I don't mess them up when I move the toilet over a foot. I'm lucky my little brother is a general contractor and knows more than me so he does the heavy stuff. I'm just the wrecking ball and golpher. Every now and then he lets me use the hammer. ;D I can't believe the cost of lumber. Got the stuff to redo the floors and wall and couldn't believe what it the total was. Definitly will be taking up motocross when this is done. Haven't been on the bike in 3 or 4 weeks, I'm having withdrawls. Should get a fix tomorrow in Houston for the Supercross. ;D

man if i had known you guys were so experienced at remodeling i would have called you when my bathroom exploded and all the tiles were leaking through the walls into the other bathroom all the sheetrock had to be replaced tub was replaced and i figured i would just do a hole make over and replace the lighting ,cabinets ,craper and the floor then had to replace all the sheetrock in there also then repaint then while this was going on my water heater decided to leak and leaked into my remodeled living room with hard wood floors so i guess someday i will get the bathroom finished (soon i hope) oh well that is the price you pay for owning your on home i guess
