Some of the Waco mini kiddo's ran BMX Sunday. Gage, Austin & Alec Brem, Billy Dicorte and Travis Sims all showed up and did Waco Eagles proud.
Gage got 4th in the 7-9 and 3rd in the open.
Austin had a great battle with another KTM and a scary crash on the big table top (the two KTM's collided in air and the other bikes bars got stuck in Austin's chest protector. All was well and they both finished the race. Austin took 2nd in both moto's and looked great. I think with a little more track time on BMX Austin will smoke those "home boys"
Alec did very well, I believe he took 2nd. He looked great! He had to run with kids a bunch older due to BMX's classes. But did very well.
Billy in normal fashion smoked the competition, railing the big berm corners and made us all go "WOW"!!!! Took a 1st place trophy home
Travis had some bike issues but after some scrambling his Dad got it going and was able to run the race. I dont remember where he placed?? Sorry Travis.
In all it was a good day. I must say that all the Waco boys represented Waco Eagles well. Very well mannered and a joy to be around. I had a few folks walk up and ask "Who are those guys??" BMX is a totally different track with loamy dirt and huge berm corners, it takes some getting used to. Other than Gage who runs this track regularly, the others figured it out quick. All of them indicated they would be back, and love the place.
Special thanks to Billy and Travis for being a "Big Brother" to Gage and offering pointers and advise. They were all they rooting each other on.
Next race is August 13th, hope to see some more Waco buds there!
