Don Miller has been asking me to do a CC race for years and even though the Morgan GP is not a typical CrossCountry race, I thought I'd give it a try. I figured I'd better get the bike ready. After 2 weekends of mud riding I spent 2 hours with a pressure washer Sunday. Looked down and noticed my chain had stretched about 4" since Friday. Even though the sprockets had a lot of wear left in them, the chain had already begun to damage them. Off to buy a new chain & sprockets from Chip, along with brake fluid to bleed my front brake. I come home and pull the airbox cover off and find about a cup of mud in there so I pull the sub-frame to clean everything good and figure I'll check my valves while I'm at it. Thankfully the valve adj are in good shape but beginning to tighten a little. I installed a new front tire Friday but when I started replacing my rear sprocket is when I noticed a rather large bulge in my rear tire. Seems my rim lock has ripped the bead off my rear tire. Back to Chips to buy a new back tire. Get home and notice a rather large puddle of oil under my forks. Dang it am I ever gonna get this thing ready for this weekend? Still got to mount the rear tire, attempt to clean fork seals and change the oil & filter in the engine and hopefully I'll be ready. Wait! There's more. Now I find out that Don not going. I hope this will be a good weekend cause it's sure costing me a bunch

sorry jeff. due to rain outs and reschedules don and i have elected to go to the TORCS race in bastrop. its a points thing for don and i love powell ranch. gene is still going to morgan. i think sonny (no show) jones is going to morgan too. dont know about jimmy. i know about the can of worms thing. i just spent over $1200 on my 2stroke rebuilding the whole motor and more, just to constantly have more small things pop up. i too now have new tires and tubes, chain and sprockets, pipe and silencer, crank seals and bearings, top end, cylinder, and more. still not happy with the way the bike is running. funny thing is that i loved the way the bike ran before the new work, it just used a little oil from a leaky crank seal. went to replace that and just ended up rebuilding the entire thing. have fun at morgan. you may want to sign up for the O45 class. it will be smaller than sportsman and starts in front of the sportsman usually.

Morgan GP was pretty good today & had a good turn out! Got alot of insight about these races they don't tell you about on their forums. It wasn't gonna cost as much as I was told. Got to ride around town & not get in trouble by the cops, lol!!! Definitley gonna try that next year! Hey Gene, I got a pic of Tyler I'll post on Loop'd. The trail from the campgrounds to town was awesome, you can ride that all day. One more day of racing left, ya'll ought to try it!

Jeff noshowjeff noshowsonny I backed out at the last minute. I spent close to $300 on my bike this week and figuring the cost of Morgan decided it was not worth it to miss my water bill payment. I figured at Morgan it was going to cost gate fee, bike fee, membership, race, numbers, transponder. Too much for this cheap skate!
