Ricky ran off the track heading for turn 2 on Saturdays Flat Track practice. He was transported to Scott & White hospital in Temple. His prognosis is looking a lot better now than it was Saturday morning.
Those that may not have met Ricky, he is from around the Austin area and attends all the flat track races at Waco. He's in his 60's and spends most of his pre-race helping with the track and readying the property. A true motorcycle enthusiest!
I have recieved many phone calls and messages from members asking if there's anything they can do to help, and asking about his condition. I'm sure he would love to recieve cards and letter letting him know we are thinking about him and wishing a full and speedy recovery. At last word he was in room 503 in Scott & White Hospital in Temple. I was advised that phone calls are probably not a good idea at this time and not sure if mail will reach him there. Any cards or letters can be mailed to;
Ricky Merlo c/o Waco Eagles PO Box 20041 Waco, TX 76702-0041
Anyone wishing to help with donations can also send a check to Waco Eagles and write Ricky Merlo in the "for" field. We'll be sure he gets all.

Man, that's sad. I hope he will be ok. We'll keep him in our prayers.

I'd be willing to throw in a little. Never know when you would need it yourself, it's good to stick together.
