My band had a blast Saturday night. It was a very long day and a mad rush when we finaly determined that Mother Nature was gonna be on our side. I got to race my 1st moto Saturday, then when the forecast looked like we could make this all happen I had to nix my 2nd moto in order to have time to go get my PA and set it up.
The heat started getting to me while I was trying to get things set up and the southern engineering we had to do to get the lights up delayed things considerably. Thanks to Beavis & Butthead, I mean Ron & Curt for MC'ing the show, it gave us enough time to at least get the drums sound checked. The rest I just 'winged it".
This was my new band, A.C.T.'s first gig and there were many things to work out in such a rush. The next time we do this (if you let us) we'll have it all down pat and it will be a much easier task for us to get set up. After seeing all you dancing to the one semi-country song we did, I got to thinking maybe I should have brought my country band, Blazing Saddles. I hope you enjoyed our song selection and we are adding new songs every week. I also hope that the sound was good for you, I couldn't hear anything out front due to wearing in-ear-monitors.
Thanks to our MC's for the night for carrying the show between music. They did a wonderful job raising money for the Krumnow family. You people are very generoous!
Channon was amazed not only at the wonderful group of people that make up the Waco Eagles, but also the amout of slobber that Curt left on his Mic at the end of the night. Btw, I picked all your empty Bud bottles under the stage Ron ;D
Channon holds the same position as I, he's the president and also the founder of the Waco Disc Golf Association. He asked how I managed to get such a wonderful group of people as members of this club, I told him simple, "they are all motorcycle riders".
He sent me a text this morning telling me what a wonderful time he had last night and again that "you have a great group of people out there and that he had a good time".
The rest of the band also enjoyed it.
Thanks to everyone that helped this event turn into an unplanned fund raiser for the Krumnows, you help will be very much needed and appreciated. God bless you all.
Special thanks to Michael Brem for being so generous but I personaly could have done without the pole dance. j/k, it was funny as hell!
Jeff Gilbert, Channon, Allen Chick, Cory Zimmerman (A.C.T.)
