I got one of those calls today no one wants to get. Early this morning, "Big Mike Klemment" called me and it was obvious he was very distraught. For everyone that knows Mike, you would also know that he is not the type of person you would expect to call you and be very emotional. I knew something bad was wrong! Mike had trouble getting the words out of his mouth. "Mikey Pierce was killed last night". I was in disbelief and shocked to say the least. He was riding his Harley last night somewhere between Cleburne & Keene when a 62 year old man either pulled out in front of him or hit him head on. Either case, Mikey Pierce is no longer with us. Mikey Pierce (pcrashdummy) was a fellow vet racer and raced in my class. He also took over as moderator of the BMX forums and handled all the p.r. stuff for Burleson Motocross Park. When he wasn't at Burleson, he was at Waco with his 2 boys. Mikey was #37 on the yellow Yamaha and most of us had a hard time keeping up with him. Off the track he always made it a point to visit, and of coarse spread his own version of smack talk. He was a very easy person to like, and very fun to race with. Mike Pierce was born 12/30/1957 and crossed the checkers on 8-30-2010. He was 52 years old. He was a father, and had many many friends. Godspeed pcrashdummy, may you rest in peace. pcrashmmy Mikey Pierce, 2nd from left, 1st place over 50, Waco Eagles, August 16, 2009.

Rest In Peace Mike. You will be missed. My prayers go out to the family. The racing community just lost another great competitor and friend.
