Services for Mike Pierce, 52, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 3, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Rev. Charles E. Payne will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. Mr. Pierce passed away Monday, August 30, 2010 in Cleburne. He was born December 30, 1957 in Cleburne to James Edward and Patsy Jean Pierce. He was a metrologist with more than 20 years of service at Alcon Labs in Fort Worth. Mike enjoyed riding and racing motorcycles and fishing. Mike Pierce is survived by his mother, Patsy Pierce of Cleburne; two sons, Matt Pierce and Michael Pierce, both of Burleson; sister, Paula May of Houston; niece, Laura Walker and former spouse, Pam Pierce. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kelly Pierce in 1989; father, James Pierce in 1996; and nephew, Travis Walker. Wish I could make it to Mike's funeral but I have a cousin's funeral Friday at 2:00 at Pecan Grove in Waco. I would like to pass on my condolences to Mike's family.

Just got in from the service. It was very nice and it was a big one. On a lighter note, it was funny how all the motocross riders seemed to congregate in one spot outside after the service. Even funnier was how no one looked the same without a helmet and gear on, made it hard to recognize each other.
R.I.P Mike Pierce, see ya on the starting gate again someday.
