I think this was probably the worst controlled National I have ever been to. Sadly we had pit bikes running all around the infield where the spectators were. Several times on the Freestone website for the National it mentioned NO pets. Again, no enforcement of this.
To constantly having knuckleheads acting like fools racing around on pit bikes, race bikes and under aged kids driving the pit vehicles, it has turned me off from wanting to return next year.
I hate to say that and do that to a National that we have been without for so many years. I enjoyed the racing, but the "clown factor" was extremely high this year.

I agree, although I was inside the fence, I was amazed by the shinigans going on outside. With all that going on, Gage and Curtis got hassled by the wanna be cops for driving a golf cart on the road (which was legal). However pit bikes were riding wheelies and hauling A$$ all over the place? ?? Great racing from my stand point

I never saw a single security guard or real cop for that matter, the people next to us were drinking beer (i love beer) like it was water and smashing the cans and left all of them there. we had our own trash can, with liner for our stuff and they were going to load ours up for us to carry off. Dad told them to police their own, we arent carrying their trash. The pit bikes were riding through the tunnels back and forth all day, not like it was an isolated case. I am not going to stop going to Freestone, just not the national.

That area in the back will be all fenced off next year no carts or mules you can still drive but not in front of the vendors. And its amazing blue trash cans everywhere but people just threw there trash on the ground

I was on the same side of the fence as Ron and I almost got ran over several times. All the workers on golf carts, 4-wheelers. I started watching and they weren't goiny anywhere, just riding around, heading down the road and turning around and coming back. I had to litteraly jump over a workers golf cart as I was flagging iin the sand whoops before the finish line, a bike ran off the track right for me and I couldn't move out of the way because of the golf cart so I jumped over it and gave the driver a go to hell look. Really pissed me off!

I agree Jeff, I dodged more 4-wheel vehicles on the track then I did two wheel machines.

Watching the pros race was awesome! But I too agree with all of ya'll. The pit riding was way out of control. That was my major concern since there was people walking everywhere. I too was almost run over several times by careless people horsing around, trying to drive through people or not paying attention. I hope they enforce the rules better for next year & the years to come for everyone's safety. Despite all that, we still had a blast & can't wait to go back next year!

Hey Everyone. Things are evolving each year and we continue to improve the facility and event. I apologize for any inconveniences and will make changes again to keep everything under control Please Note the following Schedule for 2011 The National will be held on Memorial weekend May 27-30th, 2011. Friday, May 27th is our Night Race Saturday, May 28th is the National, including the Women Pro's Sunday, May 29th is the Amateur Day on the National Track Sunday, May 29th is the Vintage race on a new natural terrain grass track Monday, May 30th is the WMA Cup for Amateur girls and women riders. CHANGES: 1. We will not be encouraging the use of carts and other equipment on national day. 2. RV Campers coming in for the event to do the amateur day will be allowed to bring them, but will be required to keep them parked until the amateur day on sunday. Due to the fact that camping is next to the track, the walking distance is not really very far. 3. The Vintage bike display and show will be on the north end of the track and a Vintage race will be held on Sunday May 29th 4. We will increase Law Enforcement. Please note we had 31 Officers and 25 Security Guards during the event last year. 5. On the track there are numerous officials and Medical Staff on the track with carts. I will bring it up in our National Meetings about those concerns on the track. 6. Pit Bikes: I stopped the same guys twice on pit bikes. Next year a lock and chain are going to be placed on that type of equipment and remained locked until the end of the event. I will continue to make changes and improve the quality of the event for all staff, workers, volunteers and spectators. thanks - Tony Miller www.freestonemx.com
