I didn't ride but I hurt ALL over... I want my on 4/wheeler.... Feet are killing me. Mike & I learned a lot today and will work hard to make changes to make Waco Eagles a safer track to ride. We have been brain storming scene we left to fix these issues and by golly.... I think we did it. We'll see next month. The back section will have more supervision when the little guys run. That's a promise. We may shut off some of the back section to prevent them being out of site as long. But like I said SOMETHING will be done to assure the riders and their families we will be there to help them if needed. I'm sure we will hit other bumps (whoops) along the way, but we will continue to work on and work out whatever comes along. It was Great to see Ryan out on the track. Told you it was the return of the Quads. Danny, Jeff and BILLY boy, without you Guys doing what you do Mike & I would be helpless. Maybe not helpless just up a creek. Pat yourself on the back, your help is comforting. Did I say comforting? TOO MUSSY. Whatever.... Thanks Guys. Jeanine, Jeanine, Jeanine.... What can I say... You jumped right in there and did an AWSOME job. Thank you so much. I hope you come back.... ;D Lisa, Thanks for hiding the eggs this morning, I think the kids enjoyed it. And to you and Jeanine, The scoring tower looked wonderful. GOOD job ladies. And a Thanks goes out to everyone who offered a hand today, TEAM WORK gets it done! PS: I do get excited at times, hope it doesn't offend anyone. I'm just a KID at heart. Thank's riders! All of you, because of you we had a GREAT day. Turning out the lights now, (bed time) Have a good week, Paula

Yes, it was a great day of racing. You guys and gals do a great job and are much appreciated! It was good to get back out on the track although I am feeling every minute of it today. My second moto took everything I had to get back up to the front. Thanks again to everyone who made it happen.

Yeah, it was a great day of racing. I enjoyed helping out, and volunteer my services anytime. I can help during the races also if you need me, i.e. putting in the results and running new score sheets, etc (just want time off to see my son race). ;D I hope we see crowds like this more often. I had several people give compliments on how the place looked. They said they can tell that we have spent quite a bit of time working out there. Lets keep up the good work, and see y'all at the races.

We had 93 entries yesterday. Club did well.
Next month there will be flat tracking going on at the same time as the MX. Looks like there be on patrol looking for possible accidents before they happen.
Slow riding in the pits, helmets must be worn at all times. Believe it or not we had a very close call yesterday when a young rider (not a racer) crossed the finish line jump to ride the B track just before a racer made that jump. He had no clue we were racing the full track. Mike was able to catch up to him at the creek and guide him off. Just be alert.
Thanks,Paula

I sent Jeff the results for the last race yesterday. Last month it was my fault the race results did not get posted in a timely manner. I crashed the computer. This month it will be Jeff's fault.
I have the following suggestions.
1. I still think we need a tractor. Nothing fancy or new just a good servicable Diesel tractor with a high and low range. we are wasting money on the old Tractor. Even if it was new it is not suited (No low Range) for what we need it for. I did help Wayne Couthran get the shredder apart and it should be fixed before long.
2. Our track is now very long 2 miles and a lot of people including me don't like the back part simply because we can't see the race. I suggest a short tie in where we still use most of the B side track but just cut out the part deep in the woods. Our Vice President has suggested this in the past. It would cut down on Flaggers and most of the objections from the Mini Parents. My son likes it all but I am bigger than him so I can change his opinion.
3. The Flea made 3 practice laps and ran two classes with a restart. Thats 36 miles even though one class was reduced to 3 laps. It is going to get hot and the races are running smooth, but we are still running too long. I suggest 3 laps for the 50s on the A side and 3 laps for everyone else on the big combined track. It would be really good if the Deep woods was cut off.
4. I also liked Jeff reading the posts at the meeting. Even though most of our Officers don't have Internet they will still get access to our messages.
If it were just my decision the races would not start until at least noon. We have way too many people signing up late. Mike was delayed by 30 minutes because of a line at singup right at 9:00 am. I know it is going to get hot but I would rather start hot and end cool than sacrifice all those entries that are simply not getting up early enough. Not to mention the spectators that want to go to church first. In my dreams I would like to see enough spectators to end sign up fees. Right now with this start date of 9:00 am, it is already getting hot in the summer and we are actually running during the hotest part of the day.
Mike and I talked about scoring changes. We are constantly trying to make our track as close as possible to operation of other tracks. That is why Mike changed the names of the classes. I will make sure by next race that I put these out with an explanation as to what each class will be. We also discussed our scoring system which was designed by large tracks to be used in series races and such. Although normally no one ever notices any difference, at times especially when a guy finishes 1st one race then last in the other there can be slight standings differences. I think we may have found a compromise that will be easy to change with no perceptable notice except in these rare instances.
If you know of a very good system let us know. Especially me since I will have to change the computer.
Last if you notice something that is not right say something or tell someone. Don't get mad. Most of our people get no money and the ones that do get only enough to cover expenses.
Mike solved a problem of a 100cc running in the 85cc class.
I also talked with a parent who's child was running a 125 4 stroke in the 65cc class.
I think these problems are solved for the next race. Please don't assume that anyone is getting special favors or that no one cares. It takes a team effort to run these races and most of the people are not cheating they simply do not know which class to sign up in. All we get is a trophy and if you really want one that bad let the Flea know he needs to get rid of a few or move out of his room.

I will agree with Danny on the length of the races. My son also ran with the Flea in both classes and when they had to run with the 85cc class and do 4 laps, Garrett said his hands felt like they were asleep when he came in. So, if these young kids who have all the energy say it is pretty rough, I could only imagine what it feels like for the older guys... ;D Also, mentioned was maybe cutting the B-side down a bit and not run so far into the back. I also like that idea. Garrett's one lap race time was clocked at 3:56. So you can figure they are out of our sight for approximately 2 minutes, which seems like forever when you can't see them. I know Garrett likes the back, but I don't think he would mind if it were cut down a bit on race day. Now as far as starting the races later, I don't like that idea. Just because you start later, doesn't mean all these people are going to get there any earlier to make sign up easier. They are still going to wait until the last minute. I experienced sign-ups first hand this weekend, even though you announce sign-ups are closed, they still come, and it is hard to tell them no. So this just delays the start even more. We need to be firm and stick to our guns. These are of course just my opinion. There is no way to please each and every member, but we need to just try to do the best that we can. I haven't been to a meeting in a while, but do plan on attending the next one and maybe we can come up with some ideas to make all this run a little smoother. As always, see you at the track.

Danny, I agree that we need to shorten B side. Mike & I talked last nigh and have started jotting down some topics for the meeting:
(1) More flaggers on the B track. (a must) (2) Training of all flaggers (3) Build stand for flaggers. (They will be seen better) (4) Build a shot cut on the B track (5) Water truck needs repair (a must) (6) If both tracks are run, 3 laps not 4 (7) Rider under 18, no parent at track. (8) Additional track repairs.
With bigger crowds we need to be on our toes. My focus is more on the paper work side and Mike on the track.. Our goal is to speed things up a bit and that’s all in getting more organized.
Solved the problem with the 100cc running in the 85cc class and a B rider that will ride in A at the next race. Notes have been made so it will not be overlooked at sign in.
Suggestions are always welcome Thanks, Paula

I'm with Ryan, though I didn't win. I left it all on the track and was pretty pooped when it was all over. It was great seeing that many people at the track.
I left some suggestions on the suggestion forum under the A-B transition. I didn't want to put them here too.
Thanks again for all that made it work, I had a blast.

to all the people mad about my son riding the 100 in the 85 class that is where he is suppose to run waco does not have enough riders to have a super mini class like most of the other tracks where the hopped 85's to 112cc and 100's ride together he is only 14 and i bought him the 100 because it is just a little bigger than the 85 and its funny that the yamaha 85 beat him to the first turn two times on a 85 if everybody thinks that the 100 cheating or something. well let me tell most of the people out there that have not been racing motorcycles all there life and think that the size of the bike has any thing to do with getting around the waco track faster than the guy beside him it means nothing motorcycle racing is all about riding ability and that is it ever wonder why jason rich can flat run down the 450's at waco on a 125 its because he is twice the rider has nothing to do with the cc's of the bike it's all about the rider. where all going out there to have fun he has been riding the 100 in the 85 class for a year now and all of a sudden he is cheating or something a protest at waco man you would think we where at a national or something.

On the 100 in the 85 class, I am glad I did not have to make that decision. I think everyone in waco realizes that we can not have a class taylored to fit every size and type bike. In fact I think the Flea ran against you on his 65.
You have to look at a number of things when you decide to put bikes into classes, especially Mini classes. When the Flea first started 50s, the Jr bikes and the Sr bikes all had 10" wheels. When the rules changed to allow the Sr bikes to run a 12" front wheel, everyone suddenly realized how much better these bikes handled with the bigger front wheel, thus the little 70cc Honda bike running in the 4-6 class had an extreme advantage due to the bigger wheels and the better shocks. The Jr bikes have little wheels and little if any shocks.
The 125 4 stroke towered over the 65s. Bigger wheels, longer frame, just did not fit. I feel that the 4 stroke should run one step below in the 2 stroke class.
I did not look at your bike, but I am willing to bet that Mike considered much more than just the engine size, when he made his decision. Which I might add, was not to disqualify the bike, but to move him up next race. I can tell you that Mike heard from the other party on that decision as well.
I specifically noted that the parent on the 125 told Mike and I that he was running a TTR 90 and was told to go to the 65 class. On the line it turned out to be a 125. We may have not heard correctly or the Parent may have just accidently told us wrong.
So far I have never seen anyone cheating at Waco, except maybe trying to get a little extra practice.
Little Matt Gerik has a lucky jacket that he keeps to himself, but no real cheating. Little Matt should have worn that jacket all day too, he had bike problems that allowed the Flea to beat him.
We will just have to keep evolving. From watching the boy on the 100cc ride, his biggest problem will be avoiding the Black flag in the Novice class. He was mighty fast.
