I have an interest in joining and noticed that the membership starts in July. I was wondering what the best way to go until then was? just as a non-member? I looked at the forms and saw that the entry fee is $6, is that correct? also, if the gate is locked, how can I enter as a non-member?
Let me know what we can do on that as the kids are on Spring Break this upcoming week and looking for someplace to ride.
Thanks.
-Mike

Hi my name is Jeanine and I am the person in charge of membership for the WEMC. You can join the club at any time. it is just that our membership year runs from June to June. As far as riding during spring break, there isn't anyone at the gate to let non-members in. Give me a call and I will explain how to become a member. 254-717-4811.

I looked at the forms and saw that the entry fee is $6, is that correct? What you were looking at Mike is the release form that we use on MX race days. On MX race events we charge a "gate fee" of $6 for adults. Kids and seniors are different. The Flat track races also are different as they are AMA santioned events and AMA dictates a $10 gate fee. The membership form is here www.wacoeaglesmc.com/pdf/membershipapp.rtf

When you are a member is the track open 24/7 or is there times you may ride? Lets say I had a rough day at work and I wanted to release some stress and ride alone for a few hours. Can you camp out?

Yes, you can ride at anytime given the track is open. We close the track when we get too much rain, like today, the track is closed due to rain. We have motocross races every third Sunday of the month so we close the track at noon the Saturday before for race prep and do not open it back for riding until the races are over. Yes, you can camp out at the track at any time. If you have any more questions, let us know. Also you can call the recorder if you are in doubt if the trac is open (254) 875-9955.

Wow joined in JULY and have not gotten their key for access, how long does it normally take for this process of getting joined, a key, and able to ride the track ? Ya, July 2005 "getting keys"...we were at the track this past weekend (we were riding as paid non-members) when another member told us that they hadn't got their key either and they'd been waiting for quite some time, I'm thinking that maybe Jeanine has taken on more than she can handle, it seems like she has a hard time getting the memberships together all by herself and its getting to her too I know this after seeing her this weekend because when we finally seen her this past weekend we were ready to purchase a membership up until how irate she was to me and my family (she literally jumped down my throat and I've never been treated that badly before)...let me explain; One time when we were on our way to the track we called her to see if she could meet us out there and she said she'd try but might not sure she can make it that particular day so we waited and she didn't show so we just rode as paid non members for that day and we'd just miss each other a few times and so on and so on, so obviously there was trouble getting together with her...so when she showed up this past weekend I was glad to see her and we were ready to pay for a membership, but when she approached us she started right in on all of us saying this is going to stop you either HAVE to get a membership or leave...we told her we were ready to buy one and she was still being irate so we just decided to pay for that one day of riding and definately decided that we were no longer interested in a membership anymore after that. There are better ways of handling things than to just attack, like..... hey how are y'all doing? are y'all ready to purchase that membership now? I've got the paperwork with me. (if she'd approached us in that manner, she would have had a membership in her hands that very day, but not in the manner she approached us). I think the world of Jeff and everyone else that we know at Waco Eagles, but y'all need to try coming up with some other way of handling the memberships (just a suggestion)!

I am not making excuses for anyone but I joined in 1976 and normally just mail my renewal without any problems. If you are worried about not getting your key...TAKE the time to come to a monthly meeting. You can sign up and get your key. For what it is worth we had some property stollen and damaged right before Christmas. I am sure some members are still pissed about that. Waco is a cheap great place to ride for MEMBERS. If you like to ride off road and live close by if I were you I would forget about the bad experience you had and mail your money in or come to the next meeting 2/24/09 at Poppa Rollo's being able to ride here locally for $100 a year is a bargain and out weighs the bad experience you had. Ride safe and happy trails.

I think the world of Jeff and everyone else that we know at Waco Eagles, but y'all need to try coming up with some other way of handling the memberships (just a suggestion)! Michelle, Jeanine started doing the memberships in 2006, before that Paula handled them. Both Paula & Jeanine have done an outstanding job with the memberships. I can't tell you how many trips Jeanine has made to the track to drop off keys and take a membership. There have been many days that she has made 3 or 4 different trips to the track on the same day to meet people. People come to her work, her home, and call her all hours of the day & night. She's always happy to do a favor. Remember that she gets nothing for her efforts, not even a cent for gas. Membership to this club is not a right, it's a privilege. I know who pays & who doesn't. There are 2 keys to the drop box, I have one and Jeanine has the other. You and I know that you haven't been paying, we check it very often. We have even made arrangements for you & your family to purchase your membership through Chip Munn using your revolving account so it would be easier for you. You never followed through. As a club, we have been very lax on enforcing the rules for trespassers but due to recent events, that is going to change. In order to be fair, we will not discriminate or favor. Anyone that is not a member and does not sign a release and deposit $10 per rider, per day, will be treated as a trespasser. We may indeed be just a club but we are treated by the IRS as a business. We also have expenses like any other business. In order for us to remain in business we have to be run like one. That means we must enforce the rules. Due to the history the club has experienced with the Brumbles over the past several years, I am putting this on this public forum for all to witness. You and your family will not be welcome, or allowed to use the Waco Eagles Motorcycle Club facilities until you purchase a membership. This club is filled with good people and I certainly invite your family to join us. This is the right thing to do and will eliminate any further incidences. I do appreciate your kind words toward me at the end of your post. You can either contact me or Jeanine should you decide to become a member. Jeff
